working out
I like working out because it is a way to inflict pain upon yourself, yet no one ever questions it. It's masochism, normalized.

Seriously
My dad is sort of a nomad. He doesn't do well in one place for too long. In fact, he used to have an unspoken rule about how he did not want to live in one place for more than 7 years. Obviously, that changed once we kids rebelled at moving during high school. But now my parents have been in my hometown for almost 15 years. And my dad is unemployed/retired, and my mom works part time, and our house is too big for two people and two dogs. So. They are finally seriously considering moving out of my town.
Heart = broken.
Heart = broken.

Analogy
I used to believe
that life was like flying
you can look around
enjoy the view from the top
choose your destination
speed and timing
take a pause
light on a branch
sometimes a great gust
might toss you
but the currents always re-align
and you will catch the breeze
but now
now I believe
that life is like falling
fun at first
glorious really
carefress, then
time speeds up
everything blurs
so aware that you are out of control
then it becomes a blessing
you don't have to think
landing is inevitable
you are going to crash
you accept it
and finally relax
that life was like flying
you can look around
enjoy the view from the top
choose your destination
speed and timing
take a pause
light on a branch
sometimes a great gust
might toss you
but the currents always re-align
and you will catch the breeze
but now
now I believe
that life is like falling

so aware that you are out of control
